Government has confirmed the death of young media entrepreneur, Zororo Makamba who succumbed to the deadly coronavirus today this afternoon. He was hospitalised at Wilkins’ Hospital following his return from New York after he started developing symptoms that are associated with disease.
The Corona Virus pandemic has rocked globally and left thousands dead while several thousands are still hospitalised and seriously ill. The fastness at which covid-19 is spreading has resulted in multiple fresh infections across the globe.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care has confirmed the passing of Mr Makamba Zororo at Wilkins’ Hospital who was one of the two confirmed cases in the country so far.
Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Dr Agnes Mahomva has said it’s a very sad day for the people of Zimbabwe following the loss of such a young precious life. “It’s a very sad day for us, “said Dr Mahomva.
Zororo Makamba who is son to business mogul, James Makamba was 30.
The Minister of Health, Dr Obadiah Moyo also confirmed that Zororo Makamba had died and was the second person to test positive for coronavirus.
Last week President E.D Mnangagwa has said Corona Virus is now a global pandemic which needs collective tackling worldwide in heightening vigilance, consideration and compassion.
Addressing the nation, the Head of State and Government President Mnangagwa has launched a comprehensive response strategy in line with the appropriate world health standards to protect Zimbabweans against the disease.
The President also urged the people of Zimbabwe to take preventive steps and precautions that are necessary in tackling the pandemic collectively.
