Results for the Bulawayo District Coordinating Committees (DCC) elections have been announced with the National Political Commissar, Cde Victor Matemadanda urging the winning candidates to work with others to build the Party.
"I know that an election does not suit everyone. These results are what Bulawayo has decided and the way people have rejoiced shows that this has been an artificial arrangement, "Cde Matemadanda said.
"The winning candidates must begin to fix the structures of the DCC before going to the Chitepo School of Ideology for training. Your data should be a true reflection of what is on the ground. Do not lie about structures that you do not have.
" Do not rejoice when people fail to restructure your province. Dissolving the province means you have failed.
" History has shown that people who want little power have the potential of turning against the Party. This is one country and it has one leader."
Some of the winning candidates include Raymond Mutomba Chairman Area 1, Nkosana Mnkandla Vice Chairman Area 1, and Otillia Chiponda Secretary for Economic Affairs Area 5 among others.
Meanwhile Cde Matemadanda has challenged the appointed chairpersons of the recently elected District Coordinating Committees DCCs to stop interfering with activities of the DCCs.
Speaking at the announcement of the Bulawayo DCCs results, Cde Matemadanda underscored the nature of their new roles.
"Cde Sikhosana you are going to be the chairperson of the DCC meetings here in Bulawayo before the Provincial structures are formed. Let me emphasize that you will not go beyond this role," Cde Matemadanda said.
"This is because we are having elsewhere with the appointed chairpersons going to the extent of conducting disciplinary action for some of the elected DCC leaders.
"These elected DCC leaders are under my authority. You do not have disciplinary powers."
Cde Matemadanda also urged the leaders to unite the people and not divide them.
"Do not divide the people of the Party. If you are in leadership and pick a few to work with, you are causing unnecessary division and this is dangerous for the Party. What happens to those without friends and those without money?"
