ZANU PF Chimanimani East Legislator Joshua Sacco says the people of Cyclone Idai affected areas are happy with the progress that has been made in rehabilitating the affected areas.
Cyclone Idai left many dead, unaccounted for and others homeless in a disaster that still has no answers. Documentation was lost, houses washed away as carpets of huge boulders were laid down. Many are still suffering from the trauma they faced on that fateful day and are still trying to pick up the pieces of their broken lives.
Speaking during President and First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa’s visit in the Province, Cde Sacco said his constituents are very happy with the work being done to alleviate the situation in the cyclone hit areas.
“We are very excited by the visit by our President who has come to our constituency to see the work being done from the time that Cyclone Idai hit the area. We lost friends and family and lost infrastructure. The President is assessing the work being done at the flats where homes are being constructed for the affected people,” Cde Sacco said.
“We are at Skyline where a road is being commissioned as it was affected by the cyclone. The President will go to Westend, Kopa, Skyline and Ngangu where he will see the work done in those areas.
“As Chimanimani we are very happy with the Government of Zimbabwe under the leadership of President Mnangagwa who have stood with us in terms of reconstruction to return to what it was before if not better.”
