There is a misconception that people infected with the deadly Corona Virus COVID19 die after being infected by it. However this is not true as evidenced coming from the People’s Republic of China PRC shows that many people recover from it.
To date over 73 000 in PRC have recovered from the deadly virus. Surveys show that a good number of cases of people that are dying from the virus have previously had medical complications.
Chief of staff for President Muhammadu Buhari Abba Kyari who has died had a history of medical complications, including diabetes. In our own case, the late Zororo Makamba is believed to have had a lung surgery recently making him vulnerable to the deadly virus.
ZANU PF Party Deputy Secretary in the Health Department Cde David Parirenyatwa said it is crucial for people with non-communicable diseases and other to exercise extreme caution when it comes to protecting themselves from the COVID19.
“We think that this disease is a not for black people because it has been people from other races dying but no. we have been given lead time to prepare against the virus. Let us not wait for people to die. We must follow what the President is saying that there should be small crowds and social distancing so that we can break the chain of infections,” Cde Parirenyatwa said.
“There are three stages of infection and in the first stage, at least 80 percent of the people catch it while only 20 percent survive. In the second stage that is when one feels like suffocating and artificial ventilation is needed.
People with diabetes, HIV and AIDS are more prone to this virus even more those that do not know their status, which is why people must get tested. Like everywhere else, there will be an impact on business but it is better than for people to die. Above all let us eat well especially the fruits and vegetables because they boost our immune system.”
