A delegation from the United States based December 12th movement has met ZANU PF Secretary for Administration, Cde Obert Mpofu at the Party headquarters to update him on their arrangements to participate at this year’s 40th main independence celebrations pencilled for Bulawayo.
Speaking after meeting Cde Mpofu, a representative of the December 12 Movement, Cde Viola Plummer said they expected to bring in 40 people for the Independence celebrations.
“My visit is to finalise the tour we are arranging for the upcoming 40th Independence celebrations. We are bringing in 40 comrades as we had a discussion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and he said it will be a good idea to bring in 40 people from the USA. So today I’m here to finalise the arrangement with the relevant officials and I had the honour of having to meet the Secretary (for Administration) and pass my greetings”.
Cde Mpofu said ZANU PF enjoyed cordial relations with the December 12th Movement and was honoured to host them for the 40th Independence celebrations.
“The December 12th Movement is part of us and hence the decision to send a powerful delegation of 40 people. We discussed the arrangements and we are happy to be hosting them”.
