Dr Mpofu Urges Former Liberation Movements To Unite Against Post-Colonial Forces
By Staff Reporter
ZANU PF Secretary for Administration, Dr Obert Mpofu, has called for a collective return to the liberation values by all Former Liberation Movements (FLM) in the face of renewed post-colonial energies attempting at tearing Africa apart.
This comes in the wake of concerted efforts by the United States of America to cause an upheaval in Zimbabwe by sowing seeds of discontent amongst South African citizens including the African National Congress (ANC) party, Africa’s oldest revolutionary party.
Dr Mpofu’s call could have been a response to a statement by the South Africa’s government which said it noted with concern reports of alleged human right violations in Zimbabwe.
In a terse statement this evening Dr Mpofu said, “a collective return to our liberation values will defeat the postcolonial energies tearing Africa apart. Liberation Movement’s fight against neo-colonial powers is grounded on unbreakable brotherhood. No neo-colonial urgency formed against our roots can uproot our anti-colonial political soul.”
He added: “While Global-North hegemony is paraded as the trusted model for pursuing sustainable socio-economic and political development, we need to be more discerning of its linear and exploitative manoeuvres.”
