First Secretary Warns Against Corruption

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended his gratitude to the overwhelming response by the local and international community towards assisting people affected with Cyclone Idai and warned against indiscipline and corruption.

ZANU PF party held its 327th Politburo meeting where President Mnangagwa hailed the hardworking spirit demonstrated by the ruling party towards rescuing and assisting thousands of families affected by Cyclone Idai.

Briefing journalists at the Politburo session, ZANU PF spokesperson Ambassador Simon Khaya-Moyo said the President expressed gratitude to local and international community’s timely response towards Cyclone Idai disaster.

“The President commended the party visibility and response to assist the people affected by Cyclone Idai, he extended his gratitude to the international community for coming in handy to assist us. He called for hardwork and discipline from all members of the party and warned against corruption,” he said.

Other key issues presented and received by the Politburo were party restructuring report on Harare and Bulawayo provinces, Presidential meetings with the people update, the inter-party dialogue, departmental reports to strengthen the party and media strategy.

The revolutionary party will hold its Central Committee meeting tomorrow.
