“We have started launching the programme of sanitising irregular settlements here at Solomio where we are working with ZB Bank and cooperatives in ensuring development of the area,” Honourable Garwe said.
“The ZB bank will ensure transparency as no money will be stolen. My Ministry will make sure that all things are on track. I am assuring you that no house will be demolished during the process as our engineers will make sure that no houses are demolished.”
He highlighted that the Ministry is putting an end to swindling by land barons.
Minister Garwe highlighted that Government aims to make sure that people get title deeds to their houses which will be regularised soon.
Provision of proper housing is in line with First Secretary and President E.D Mnangagwa's vision 2030 of providing modern housing for all citizens. President Mnangagwa through the Party pledged to build 1.5 million houses between 2018 and 2023.
Minister Garwe disclosed that efforts are also being made to modernise rural communities so as to promote urban to rural migration
The devolution process will enhance the development of the rural areas.
