MAT SOUTH CELEBRATES HON ALBERT NGULUVHE'S APPOINTMENT AS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PROVINCIAL AFFAIRS AND DEVOLUTION
Tshapongwe, Beitbridge- Tshapongwe came alive on Saturday the 12th of July as Matabeleland South Province gathered to celebrate the appointment of Hon. Albert Nguluvhe as the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for the Rainbow Province. The event, marked by traditional pride, unity, and jubilation, drew in a powerful cross-section of community leaders, party stalwarts, businesspeople, church figures, and cultural dignitaries.
The celebration was graced by Chief Matibe and three respected Headmen, Tshinoni, Tshikwelengwe and Foromen, alongside several Masabhugu, who collectively added deep cultural significance to the occasion. Also in attendance was the esteemed Chief Magoda Mulalo from Limpopo Province, South Africa, reflecting the regional ties and solidarity shared across the Limpopo River.
From the spiritual front, church leaders from various denominations were present to bless the moment, including Bishop Dube of the Lutheran Church Western Denary, affirming the moral foundation upon which the province is anchored.
The political leadership was strongly represented. Minister of Industry and Commerce, Hon. Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu, who also serves as the ZANU PF Provincial Chairman, was in attendance, along with Central Committee Member Cde Metrina Mudau, Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Hon. Dr Omphile Marupi, and Members of Parliament Thusani Ndou and Tinashe Mushipe. Senior Party leaders from across the province were also present in full force, demonstrating unwavering support for Hon. Nguluvhe.
Civic leadership was well represented, with the mayors of Gwanda and Beitbridge, Beitbridge RDC CEO, and various Heads of Provincial Government departments joining the festivities. The Provincial JOC, DDC, and local Heads of Government Departments ensured everything ran smoothly, reflecting strong administrative cooperation across sectors.
Of particular note was the overwhelming support from local businesspeople and the community at large. Businesses generously contributed towards catering, transport logistics, and other resources, including buses and lorries that ferried celebrants from all corners of the province. Their support highlighted the vital role of the private sector in fostering community cohesion and provincial pride.
Cross Border Associations aligned to ED also came out in numbers, bringing with them vibrancy, songs, and messages of loyalty to the leadership of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and to the ruling party.
Minister Nguluvhe said, “I appreciate the appointment with humility and promise not to let the confidence placed on me by the President, His Excellency Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, by ensuring that no place or nobody will be left behind as per H.E’s mantra as we move to achieve Vision 2030.”
The celebrations stood not only as a personal honour to Hon. Nguluvhe but as a powerful reminder of Matabeleland South’s unity, strength, and readiness to push forward under the banner of development, cultural pride, and political stability.
