The technical and material support China has been giving to Zimbabwe is testament to the cordial relations between Zimbabwe and China a senior Government official has said.
This was said by the Vice President and Second Secretary of ZANU PF and Minister of Health and Child Care, Cde C.D.G.N Chiwenga, whilst receiving 3 million doses of additional Covid-19 vaccines which were handed over to Government by the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Guo Shaochun, at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport. The batch is the fourth one Zimbabwe is receiving from China.
Government is fulfilling the 2018 people’s manifesto of providing quality and affordable healthcare delivery system and leaving no one behind.
Speaking at the handover ceremony VP Chiwenga emphasised that China has been generously providing technical and material assistance since the virus was first reported in Zimbabwe and that thus was testament to the cordial relations between Zimbabwe and China. He went on to express his gratitude for the kind gesture by China to complement Zimbabwe’s efforts towards attaining herd immunity.
Ambassador Shaochun highlighted that China was serious about building a community with a shared future for mankind and that his country was also committed to common values of humanity including peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom.
Writing on his twitter handle Ambassador Shaochun said, “Great honor to attend for the fourth time the handover for vaccines donated by China to Zimbabwe. We will continue to stand firmly with the people of Zimbabwe to protect life and promote development.”
