ZANU PF First Secretary, His Excellency Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa says the Party has avoided cash disbursements in order to have practical skills inculcated in today's youths.
This he said during the ZANU PF Youth League National Assembly held at the Party headquarters this Thursday.
He urged the youths to uphold hard, honest work.
"I launched the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme on the 20th of March 2025. This programme is a strategic investment to ensure the participation of more young people in all productive sectors of our economy," President Mnangagwa said.
"We deliberately avoided cash disbursements and instead opted for a model that inculcates practical skills, production and productivity, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship, while also instilling a culture of hard-honest work.
"Our ZANU PF Party is availing agriculture and mining equipment to ensure increased productivity for the youth, including artisanal miners as well as those in micro, small and medium enterprises. To bolster these programmes, the allocation of land to the youth league, province by province for sustainable income generation agriculture projects is ongoing.
"The construction vehicles, tipper trucks and front-end loaders, which I handed over to Provincial youth-led Consortiums, should enable your entry into business value chains across the economic spectrum.
"These are tangible, productive assets to empower and unlock lasting wealth. Resources generated should be used in a revolving fashion, to guarantee continuity as well as the realisation of high-impact and tangible results. The leadership of the Youth League, have a duty to diligently follow up and monitor all projects.
"In the identification and selection of project beneficiaries, "no one and no place must be left behind". Empowerment must extend to the grassroots memberships, and not remain concentrated in the upper levels of your structures. That is how the mass character of our Party must be protected and secured."
