Small to medium enterprises met the ZANU PF Secretary for Economic Development and Empowerment at the Party headquarters in a bid to help advance strategies towards the attainment of vision 2030.
Speaking during the workshop held at the Party headquarters, various participants from the affiliates, transport sector amongst others took turns to air their concerns in order to iron out what they felt are impediments to their operations.
Being critical players in the economy, many felt that once the challenges are addressed, these would help bring an ease of doing business.
The Secretary, Cde Sithembiso Nyoni said, “We came here to have an understanding of what empowerment is. We want a responsible utilization of resources because most of the times you don’t find the intended results. So what does empowerment mean to you, the nation and the Party? We want to minimize failure of the use of resources and remove that feeling of entitlement because it is a priviledge. Zimbabwe is very rich in terms of human resources, natural and other and so these must be used effectively to attain vision 2030.”
Harare Metropolitan Province ZANU PF Chairman, Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa lamented that, “Many people continue to be depended on the Party and Government yet they should be independent.”
Cde Lloyd Bahera of SMEs for Economic Development expressed his gratitude for, “Loans, operating space and capacity building because SMEs are the backbone of the country.”
Cde Malvern Marucha of BoysDzaMdara said’ “As beneficiaries of the Presidential Empowerment Schemes, we have the capital, ideas and are organizes. We therefore propose that we be given first preference during tendering processes.”
Vendors for Economic Development’s National Chairman Cde Samora Chisvo said, “We want to thank His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for the Presidential Empowerment Schemes.”
