ZANU PF Secretary General Cde Advocate Jacob Mudenda has applauded the University of Zimbabwe for its role in advancing the attainment of Vision 2030 through innovation, research and the implementation of Education 5.0.

Speaking during the tour of UZ's innovation hubs, Cde Mudenda highlighted that the University is playing an integral role in the implementation of heritage based education.

"When we decided at our Policy and Coordination Meeting that the Secretary of Education, Ideology and Research to organise this programme, the whole idea was to appreciate the application of the policy in Education 5.0," the Secretary General said.

"This policy was chosen by our leader, Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and we needed to see how this matrix works at the University of Zimbabwe as our olden institution. 

The University of Zimbabwe is playing an integral role in implementation of heritage based education with all Universities, Colleges and Tertiary Institutions. 

"Our ancestors and forebearers had the idea of how to innovate and get knowledge. That is why they said, 'Chitsva chiri mutsoka' and in Ndebele, 'Ohambayo ngokhubekayo'. These are African proverbs summarizing the quest of getting new knowledge. You can only get there if you move forward. 

"We applaud the University of Zimbabwe in being the champion of that movement. You must believe in yourself before you move. We need the change of the mindset."

The tour included Politburo members among them Secretary for Information and Publicity, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, Secretary for Business Development, Cde Elifas Mashaba, Secretary for War Veterans Cde Douglas K Mahiya, Secretary for External Relations, Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, Secretary for People with Disabilities, Cde Rosie Mpofu and Secretary for Gender and Culture, Cde Tendi Mukusha, Committee member Cde Mike Bimha amongst others.
