President Mnangagwa has urged the business sector to leverage on the re-engagement policy saying it is gaining traction and momentum. Officially opening the Second Phase of the Varun Beverages manufacturing plant in Southerton, President Mnangagwa said government would also continue to create an enabling environment to ease the convenience and cost of doing business to realise the attainment of vision 2030.“Government will also continue to create an enabling environment to ease the convenience and cost of doing business and ensure the country is a safe and attractive destination. The second phase was completed at a cost of US$20 million.“In 2018, I commissioned a US$20 million bottling plant and today, I congratulate and applaud Varun Beverages, for establishing yet another state-of-the-art plant and additional production lines with a total investment of US$20 million,” said President Mnangagwa.President Mnangagwa also said the establishment of these plants by Varun Beverages is a testimony that Zimbabwe is open for business and dialogue and he further advised the business community to be vigilant.“As Government, we are confident that through such investments, more investors will commit themselves to exploiting opportunities in other sectors of our economy such as manufacturing, agriculture, mining, tourism, energy, ICT and general infrastructure development.“Government, he added, will also continue to create an enabling environment to ease the convenience and cost of doing business and ensure the country is a safe and attractive destination,” said President Mnangagwa.Last year, President Mnangagwa commissioned the first phase of $30 million Varun Beverages plant and called for more foreign companies to be part of the country’s new economic drive aimed at upgrading people’s living standards. The company now employs more than 1 500 workers countrywide.
