Women in Global Markets have touched base in Chimoio and Nyadzonia shrines in a quest to strengthen their ideological consciousness.
Led by their National Chairperson Cde Susan Machiri the women from Bulawayo and Masvingo Provinces sang the National Anthem and were told the history of the gallant sons and daughters who lie at the shrines.
Many of these heroes and heroines lost their lives as they fought to bring Zimbabwe's independence.
The women who have taken the journey to Mozambique realize their invaluable contribution to modernizing, industrializing and building Zimbabwe.
Expressing the group's emotions as they toured the shrines, Cde Mashiri said the group was in a lot of pain.
"It was an emotional experience. All the women cried because it was painful to hear what happened. On our way back, everyone was quiet and you could tell that what we had seen and heard had cut right through our hearts. One can never be the same again after that journey and visit to the Chimoio and Nyadzonia shrines."
