Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes Mesa is in the country to cement already existing ties between his country and Zimbabwe.

The Vice President had an opportunity to lay the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier at the National Heroes Acre, inaugurate the Fidel Castro Road in Harare among other things in honour of the role that Fidel Castro played in Zimbabwe's liberation struggle.
