ZANU PF First Secretary and President, His Excellency, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa says anything that is causing the Party’s stagnation must be unplugged.
He said this during his Opening Remarks to the 384th Ordinary Session of the Politburo at the Party headquarters this Wednesday.
President Mnangagwa said it is imperative that the Party remains firmly reliant on the masses and timeously solve their concerns.
"This 384th Ordinary Session of the Politburo must see us collectively reflect, not only on the events within our Party but more critically, the present socio-economic and political landscape of our country and its impact on the people of our great motherland, Zimbabwe. In doing so, we must draw lessons from our rich history and the various phases we have experienced as a revolutionary mass Party," President Mnangagwa said.
"In terms of Party mobilization, building and growth, we must constantly improve and work with greater efficiency. Loop-holes and excesses, which may put the Party in danger of stagnation or a waning support-base, should be decisively plugged. Integrity, discipline and accountability to those we lead and serve are core principles which guide the conduct of both the Party leadership and membership. These are vital to the survival of the Party. It is also critically important that we remain firmly reliant on the people, timely addressing their concerns and ultimately sharing their destiny.
"As we prepare to restructure and choose leaders in the lower tiers of the Party structures, it is critically important that we increase awareness among the members on one of the main Party objectives, that of wholeheartedly serving our people. This noble character and political integrity of our colossal mass Party, as stipulated in the Party Constitution, should be protected and preserved."
