President Mnangagwa has urged women to support and uplift each other through developing collaborations in their respective provinces and beyond.
Addressing the ZANU PF Women’s League National Assembly, ZANU PF First Secretary and President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has said there must be a collective effort recommit to breaking barriers and building futures that empower women.
President Mnangagwa also said collectively the nation can create a society where women thrive and lead in propelling the nation towards vision 2030.
“I implore you to support and uplift each other through developing collaborations in your respective provinces and with other progressive revolutionary organizations of the region, continent and beyond.
“Let us recommit to breaking barriers and building futures that empower women, we can create a society where women thrive, contribute and lead in our ongoing collective efforts to propel our nation towards vision 2030.
“I am extremely confident that the Women’s league will remain united,steadfast,resilient and dedicated to the empowerment of women for the collective good of our country, "said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa also challenged the Women’s League to have relevant mobilization strategies to attract more women to join the Party and the league.
“I challenge you to have relevant mobilization strategies to attract more women to join the Party and the women’s league. Reports must be submitted on a yearly basis, on exact figures, indicating the growth and categories by sector, from which the women are drawn.Pandinofamba ,ndinobvunzwa nemadzimai ane shungu dzekuva nhengo dzemusangano kuti zvinofamba sei, more women, including the younger women, long to join the Party.ZANU PDF ihomwe inokwana munhu wose,” said President Mnangagwa.
The theme of the session was ‘Breaking Barriers, Building Futures, Women journey towards Vison 2030’ .
President also saluted the women for their selfless commitment, love for the country and hard work in supporting projects and programmes under the Second Republic.
“I thus salute the women of this great nation for their selfless commitment, love for our country and hard work. As government, we stand committed to overcome the challenges encountered by women and communities as a whole.
“To this end, we continue to priorities the implementation of empowerment programmes and projects for women. This is a critical building block for the development and growth of our nation. When women are empowered, families are supported, communities developed, and the economy grows.
“Together, including all the Leagues and Government, we must continue to cooperate closely to eradicate poverty and inequality a higher quality of life for our people, "said President Mnangagwa.
