Masvingo Province's Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Ezra Chadzamira, says it is folly for people to think they are capable of doing the work given to God's anointed and chosen individuals.
This he said during a church service of Johane, the 5th of Africa International Church where the church Founder, Archbishop Dr. Andby Makururu, had a Game Changer invasion with the Province.
"His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, is chosen by God to rule Zimbabwe. Let me not be misled to think that as I govern a small Province, I am capable of ruling Zimbabwe because the country will come to a halt. The same goes for Johane, the 5th of Africa International Church. The anointed person in this church is Archbishop Dr. Andby Makururu. Never think that because you have been chosen to lead a certain branch, you can lead the church because it will come to an end. For that reason, let us all respect the men chosen by God to transform our lives and bring development to Zimbabwe."
Minister Chadzamira also took time to reaffirm the government's commitment to working with the church, emphasising that they play a pivotal role in advancing community development and upholding national values.
“Our government has a very strong relationship with the indigenous churches because they have a huge following and provide a moral yardstick for the community while praying for peace and unity in the country," Minister Chadzamira said.
“We are collaborating with the churches in various programmes such as agriculture, tourism, and mining to improve their livelihoods., hence we call members to be part of the development trajectory being led by our President, His Excellency Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa."
Archbishop Dr. Andby Makururu expressed satisfaction with the government for recognising and engaging the church in development programmes.
“As a church, we value the relationship we have with the government, and our church is not only a spiritual refuge but also a source of livelihood for many. We are running several programmes to empower our members, especially women and youth, particularly in agriculture. We support young people through skills development so that they are productive and independent,” Archbishop Makururu said.
The church has already begun providing loans for church members to start their business with the aim of helping the government achieve vision 2030.
