His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has called for the ntrenching of peace and unity within the country.
Speaking during the 384th Ordinary Session of the Politburo this Wednesday, President Mnangagwa said misplaced narratives must be shunned.
"All Party verification, mobilisation or restructuring exercises should be leveraged to consolidate popular support for the Party’s governance and not that of cliques or individuals. Musangano hawusi Musangano wezvigaro. Kwete! Tinosungirwa kudzidzisa gwara reZANU PF, nekushandira vanhu vekwedu, kuti dunhu-ne-dunhu vanhu vabudirire, vagare zvakanaka," he said.
"These cardinal principles should be passes on and and on to old and new members particularly the young people of our Party. Through our multiple voices at the various Party-platforms, let us entrench peace and unity, within our Party, communities and the nation as a whole. ZANU PF will continue uniting the people of our motherland towards the realisation of Vision 2030 and shared prosperity. As we carry out our work at all levels, let us shun tags, labels and tendencies that sow disunity, regionalism and misplaced narratives.
"We have a duty to be more responsive to the citizens in our wards and districts. Our over-sight role as the ruling Party is for the benefit of the people. As such, our constitutional meetings, including at the level of Politburo and Central Committee, are not mere routine. Substantive matters in these forums should relate to how best to improve the quality of life of our people, ensuring that our public entities are delivering, examining the rate of implementation of projects and programmes, as well as the overall quality of public services, right from the grassroots level."
