USING HUMOUR AS A PREVENTION STRATEGY

Zimbabweans are well known for their resilience and humor in a time of crisis and this era of COVID19 is just one of them.

There are many videos circulating on WhatsApp and some by faceless characters on various social media platforms urging people to be cautious of this pandemic. Among them have been couples using women's bras, men using shoes and others using sacks.

A week ago, videos of empty shelves in Europe saw jokes about Europeans using tree leaves labeled 'organic toilet paper for sale.'

Even in the streets you find people looking out for each other. You can hear people shouting 'Musabate kumeso kuneCorona' or 'Gezai mawoko kuneCorona' as part of the communication strategies that we Africans have always known. What we know is caring for each other and urge Zimbabweans to keep the spirit in line with President Mnangagwa's Plan of prevention against this virus.

Unity of purpose is what the People's Party,
ZANU PF under the vigilant leadership of
President Mnangagwa encourages as we rally the nation towards prevention against this disease.
