President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said the attainment of an upper middle income economy by 2030 must be driven by robust investment in science and technology development.
Speaking at the launch of the first phase of the e-cabinet system President Mnangagwa directed cabinet ministers to embrace the e-cabinet system to promote the ease of doing business.
“As a nation, the attainment of an upper middle class economy must be driven by science and technology hence partnerships in this regard will continue to be supported by government.
“The facility is a good example of public/private sector collaboration on a national project. I urge for more partnerships across sectors for the hastening of realisation of Vision 2030,” said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa said through this system, cabinet ministers will be able to conduct all the work in their ministries professionally by adopting the new ICT solutions.
“I exhort all relevant stakeholders to ensure that necessary security measures are put in place to prevent undesirable occurrences or loss of data, the system must be adaptive to new technology," said President Mnangagwa
He added that his government was determined to reform administration and governance of the entire public sector through the modernisation of all operational systems.
The second phase of the e-cabinet system is expected to begin by April this year.
