ZANU PF Youth League has commissioned the first of ten CIP plants to be rolled out in each province as part of efforts to empower youths in the mining sector.
Task Mining, a syndicate made up of 10 youths and situated in Chegutu was the first recipient of the CIP plant.
Speaking after the official launch, ZANU PF acting deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Tendai Chirau, said operations of the syndicate was testimony to the ability of youths to meaningfully contribute towards rebuilding the economy.
“I witnessed the official commissioning of one of the ten Carbon in Pulp gold machines sourced by the ZANU PF Youth League.
"The machine was set up in Chegutu by Task Mining a youth Syndicate. What is interesting about the project is the professionalism exhibited by the industrious youth.
"Among other skills some of the team members have more than a decade experience in the mining industry with some in possession of full blasting licence certificates and other mining qualifications.
"The claims which they are working on have been given to them under a tribute arrangement. Modernisation and professionalization of artisanal mining sector is one of the key enablers of the 12 billion mining industry by 2023” said cde Chirau.
Task Syndicate chair, Timothy Masviba, said availing of the CIP by the ZANU PF Youth league was testimony to the good works of the syndicate which was working towards empowering youths through job creation.
He said operations of the syndicate currently employ 700 workers mainly youths.
Masviba said his team was determined to ensure that their operations remained above board hence their fixation with getting the necessary legal approvals.
“The Youth league has facilitated our acquisition of a CIP machine at zero deposit but which we shall pay for over time. Under this initiative the League will also distribute CIP machines to other districts in the country. Once we acquire the necessary documents to use the CIP, we shall immediately deploy as the dump is already available”.
"This is a legal mine and all our operations are legal. We are different from "makorokoza" who just mine but we are artisanal miners who follow the law to the letter. All the gold we mine, we are selling to Fidelity in accordance with the law".
