ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde S.K Moyo has appealed to businesses to have empathy following a recent hike in prices of goods and services.

Many businesses have begun overcharging taking advantage of the lockdown at a time when deteriorated incomes are rife.

The National lockdown was enforced following a spike in covid19 deaths in order to help curb the spread of the virus. However a lot of people seem to be disregarding the lockdown resulting in the continued registration of cases and deaths.

"The Revolutionary ZANU PF Party is concerned by the recent spike in the cost of goods and services particularly basic commodities. Such a development has no grounding in basic economics. It is merely a manifestation of greed in some of our business entities," Cde Moyo said.

"Surely, this practice weighs heavily on the poor and must be nipped in the bud. Certainly, the ordinary citizen needs protection.

"With the Covid19 pandemic ravaging the country, empathy should be at play in our daily relations. The deadly pandemic has not spared our economy hence the need to take care of each other."

Cde Moyo said the "Party is therefore appealing to the business community to conduct their business ethically. Love thy neighbour. Together we shall fulfill the ideals of Vision 2030 as often spelt out by His Excellency the President Cde E.D Mnangagwa."
