ZANU PF Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Lewis Matutu is currently in Nicosia, Cyprus where he is attending the 20th Assembly of the World Federation of Democratic Youth WFDY.
The Assembly which runs from the 1st to 7th of December is expected to choose new leadership as the term of office for the past executive has expired.
All WFDY members are bound to participate and Africa is entitled to a Vice Presidency position, just as the Arab and Latin Americas. The Presidency can be chosen from anywhere.
The regional WFDY meeting held in South Africa recently recommended that ZANU PF and ZICOSU throw in their hats for the General Council positions.
This will give Zimbabwe an opportunity to advance the cause looking at the challenges currently bedeviling the country.
WFDY has pledged to end of imperialism, fascism, colonisation, occupation, war, exploitation, and misery of peoples.
