Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Rwandan Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency, Ambassador James Musoni has congratulated His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for his excellent execution of duties during his tenure as SADC Chairman.

Speaking during the Annual New Year's reception held for the Diplomats accredited to Zimbabwe at Rainbow Towers this Thursday, Ambassador Musoni said President Mnangagwa continues to show his unwavering commitment to regional integration and will do well once selected to the United Nations Security Council.

"Your Excellency, we take this opportunity to extend our warm congratulations for the people of Zimbabwe and Your Excellency, for the good leadership demonstrated during your Chairmanship of SADC. You demonstrated your unwavering commitment to regional integration, economic growth and development," Ambassador Musoni said.

"Your Excellency, we would also like to commend you for Zimbabwe's candidature to the United Nations Security Council for a non-permanent seat for the period 2027-2028 and we are confident that Zimbabwe will be elected and advocate for global peace and security. As you rightly said Your Excellency, you will push for the respect of international law, peaceful resolution of disputes, multilateral cooperation, regional stability and inclusive governance." 

Ambassador Musoni added that the Diplomats will continue "Working closely with your administration in promoting shared aspirations of peace, development and prosperity. We wish you continued success, peace and prosperity."
