Japan has congratulated Zimbabwe on its election to the United Nations Security Council. 

On its Twitter page, the Embassy of Japan wrote: “Congratulations on Zimbabwe's election as non-permanent member of the UNSC! Japan will continue to promote multilateral diplomacy centered on UN and actively contribute to realization and maintenance of international peace and security in cooperation with UN and Zimbabwe.”
