The Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Mudenda says the final vote of the Constitutional Amendment Number 3 Bill is in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.
Speaking from the August House this afternoon, Advocate Mudenda said, "I would like to thank all the tenors for performing what they are performing for us in the House. Now, the confirmed result of the count, therefore, is that 216 Honourable members have voted in favour of the third reading of the Bill, and 42 have voted against the Bill. The number of affirmative votes is not less than two-thirds membership of the House, which is 187 out of the total membership of the House, which is 280 members. I, therefore declare the final vote in the House on the Constitution of Zimbabwe, Amendment Number 3 F.B 1-2026 will have been in accordance with the provisions of Section 328 Subsection 5 of the Constitution. The Clerk will read the Bill a third time."
