ZANU PF Secretary for Education, Ideology and Research Cde Charles Tavengwa says it is the responsibility of educationist to preserve revolutionary values and the vision for the future.
He said this while making his remarks at a two-day capacity building workshop for Secretaries of Education held at the Party Headquarters this Thursday.
Cde Tavengwa said they need to strengthen their understanding of their role.
”We meet at a time when societies are changing rapidly. Information travels instantly, new ideas emerge daily, and citizens expect informed, principled and practical leadership. In this environment, the Department of Education, Ideology and Research remains the intellectual engine of our Party. Our responsibility is to preserve our revolutionary values, strengthen ideological consciousness, promote research and ensure that every cadre understands both our history and our vision for the future,” Cde Tavengwa said.
“It is against this background that this Capacity Building Workshop has been convened. Its purpose is to strengthen your understanding of the constitutional mandate of the Department as provided for under Article 10, Section 90 of the ZANU PF Constitution, while enhancing your capacity to contribute meaningfully towards the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) and the attainment of Vision 2030 through informed policy formulation, ideological education, research and innovation.
“We must also embrace innovation. As technology and digital communication continue to transform society, our educational programmes, research systems and ideological training must adapt while remaining firmly grounded in the principles and values of our revolutionary Party.”
He added that, “Ultimately, education, ideology and research are tools for serving the people. At the conclusion of this workshop, I expect each Office bearer to clearly understand and know their roles as provided in the Party Constitution under Article 10, section 90. Let the outcomes of this workshop be reflected in stronger Party structures, better-informed members and improved organizational performance.”
He added that, “Together, let us remain united, disciplined and committed to excellence as we continue building a revolutionary Party that is intellectually strong, ideologically grounded and fully prepared to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo, Ilizwe lakhiwangabanikazi balo.”
