ZANU PF First Secretary and President, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has commended the efforts by the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle to safeguard the gains of independence.
He said this during their 3rd National Assembly held at the Party Headquarters.
The War Veterans gathered to deliberate on various issues affecting them such as their welfare and empowerment.
Speaking during this meeting, President Mnangagwa highlighted that his Government has put in place numerous empowerment schemes to ensure their lives are improved.
President Mnangagwa's vision 2030 has ensured that no one and no place is left behind in the development agenda.
"I want to commend you my dear comrades for resolutely shunning any form of negative influence from the erstwhile colonizers as we all safeguard the gains of liberation struggle. In your individual and collective capacities, you are providing grounded wisdom, leadership, guidance as well as demonstrating the spirit of nationalism, discipline, unity, loyalty and patriotism. This unflinching love for your country is invaluable. Well done, Makorokoto, Congratulations, Amhlophe," he said
"I acknowledge the remarkable strides made by the League with regards the ongoing mobilisation exercise across all the 10 provinces of our country. This revolutionary undertaking is greatly commendable. Ndinokutendai mose, ngiyalibonga lonke.
"Going forward, more so as we are now focusing on winning resoundingly the 2028 Elections, it is my expectation that as the War Veterans League, you scale up the implementation of your grassroot mobilization programmes. More and more people must join the Party."
The meeting was held under the theme, "Beyond the battlefield: Celebrating Courage, Loyalty and Commitment."
