President Mnangagwa remembers Umdala Wethu

His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has remembered the life and sacrifice of the late National Hero, Cde Dr Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo who is interred at the National Heroes Acre.

Affectionately known as “Umdala Wethu”, Cde Nkomo was the co-architect of the historic Unity Accord celebrated every 22nd of December and signed in 1987.

President Mnangagwa said the Unity Accord ushered in an “era of durable Peace and National Unity which endures to this day. The Second Republic commits itself to upholding and furthering this priceless bequest which must pass from generation to generation without any glitch or interruption. It remains the bedrock of our stability and cohesion as a people, indeed the pith of our Hunhu/Ubuntu.”
