His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has expressed gratitude to the international community for the support rendered in acquiring the United Nations Security Council non-permanent seat.
Speaking from The State House today, President Mnangagwa said all Zimbabweans must be proud of this achievement.
”I am extremely humbled by the support we received from the international community. It’s very humbling. It means that Zimbabwe has very excellent diplomatic relations with the rest of the international community,” President Mnangagwa said.
”I believe that we are doing our diplomatic relations very well and I believe that if we stay the course, we shall continue to receive that level of respect. We are in the cockpit of the world, which is very rare. It’s a priviledge to be in that cockpit.
“We feel very proud. It means that we are doing well. The world recognizes that we are really a rising democracy in our region and we can only achieve such numbers if you are doing well and if you are democratic and we should as Zimbabweans feel proud.”
