Greenhills B and Zishume community members have expressed satisfaction at the work being done by their Member of Parliament, Cde Brian Mudhumi to alleviate their healthcare plight.
The clinic which is currently at roof level was something they never thought could be achieved.
Speaking during a tour of the project in Masvingo North Constituency, the Constituents shared their excitement.
Cde Chinyei Chivandire said, "We are happy that the clinic is finally taking shape. For many years before this young man came, we should come here and clear with the hope that the previous Member of Parliament would do something but nothing would happen. We asked ourselves if this young man was going to be able to do what the older people were failing to do. He has proved us all wrong because as you can see, the clinic is finally being built and is at roof level. He has lived up to his name Mudhumi and thundered like his name."
Cde Amos Chipinda said, "We want to thank President Emmerson Mnangagwa for allowing such young people to lead because they are following his vision. The clinic being built here is a realisation of a dream we had and never thought could achieve."
Cde Last Watch said, "We have received over 300 bags of cement, 50 000 bricks for this clinic. When we call the Member of Parliament Cde Mudhumi for supplies, he sends them timeously because he understands what this clinic project means to us. We have young people and other locals coming to work as volunteers because they know that it means. We have students on attachment from Mushagashe as well who are to help with the project and advance their skills. We are working in unity of purpose because this is important to us."
Cde Augur Mukunguma a Village Health Worker said the load will be lighter for them.
"The building and completion of this clinic will make the workload lighter for us. We are only three VHWs here serving a very large community. We are walking very long distances and the people we serve sometimes have to travel very long distance to Masvingo to get healthcare. Once complete, this clinic can be a district clinic to provide healthcare to accident victims and others. The place will also reduce traveling costs as patients access their medication closer to their homes."
