ZANU-PF sends congratulations and gratitude

The July 1921 founding of the Communist Party of China has turned out to be a seminal point of modern history a century later. It marked a pregnant new beginning for Chinese people as they harnessed their energies in pursuit of an epoch of sustained prosperity underpinned by fervent hope. The Chinese Communist Party rescued the 5000-year-oldcontinuous civilization from a misstep that had stripped China off its rightful place as one of the leading lights of human progress.

The misstep saw Europe taking ascendancy through the Renaissance, the Voyages of Discovery, the Industrial Revolution and other aspects of global modernization.Technologies like gun powder, the compass, printing etc were adapted from China and converted to new purposes as Europe advanced to global stage. Along the way Europe led by England and soon after, Japan turned themselves into evil imperial powers with predatory tendencies against nations and societies that were laggards in adopting to the Age of Industry.

Asia, Africa and the Americas would pay a heavy price as the law of the uneven development of human progress was abused for imperial plunder of conquest, subjugation, colonization and even genocidal extermination. The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, a towering crime against humanity is the heinous blemish that stands out to eternal condemnation.China too, for all its might, its massive population and its age-old civilization was not spared from the predatory propensity of the European imperial powers.

China was forced to cede coastal ports to mercantilist foreign powers who played havoc with its still targeted artisanal industry and feudal farming techniques. They intentionallypursued impoverishment and pauperization as means of control. Unorthodox drug trade saw Opium Wars imposed upon weakened feudal empires. The result was an England which unjustly enriched itself through evil commerce.

A Japan that had hastily joined the Industrial Revolution would jealously stampede onto the imperial bandwagon with neighbour China as the target of ill-judged colonial ambitions that wrought horrendous cost courtesy of the rampagingJapanese Imperial Army. The plight of China worsened well into the dawn of the 20th Century as the country faced an abyss. Something had to give otherwise the enduring civilization teetered on the verge of a tragic and catastrophicend.

Something had to give. Karl Marx's theory on human progress had arrived on the stage just in the knick of time. The march of humanity now had a powerful scientific tool of explanation and application. Soviet Russian notwithstanding eventual imperfections was the first society to adopt and chart a new chapter of socio-economic development using tenets of the powerful vehicle of scientific socialism.

The visionary founders the CPC in the commercial city of Shanghai saw the tantalizing and availing opportunity and equally seized upon it. How right and apt they were. The CPC went on to rise to the challenges China faced in every way as it charted a new and promising future.

Surviving early internal harrying and persecution, the CPCtook the lead in uniting the nation away from incessant and debilitating internecine squabbling, fighting and treacheries.

It tenaciously and relentlessly took a principled standeventually playing a leading role in blunting and defeating the aggression of imperial Japan. It parried off the return of internecine strive and consequential internal decay by defeating retrograde internal foes prone to compromise with the post WWII neo-imperialist powers. The victory against reactionary forces would lead to the birth of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

Undaunted, the CPC took upon the role of government consolidation and nation building in the face of unstintinghostility, economic sanctions, financial marginalization, diplomatic isolation and proxy military aggression. The CPC took on the challenges, confronted them through self-reliance and trial and error. By the 1970s it had braced through, and the neo-imperial forces had no alternative but to accept the geopolitical reality of the New China.

Poor as it still was, new China threw its fate into solidarity with the anti-imperialist struggles of fellow Global South nations as they shook off alien colonial overlords. The national liberation movement of Southern Africa would derive particular benefit going beyond military support. The 2000km long TAZARA railway between land locked Zambia and coastal Tanzania stands as an epic symbol of selfless Chinese aid to the cause of Africa's historic pursuit of freedom, independence and democracy.

The ever-brightening fortunes of China took a new turn as of the 1980s. The CPC embraced the spirit of opening to global capital which had come to terms with the inexorable and permanent march of the Chinese Revolution. A self-confident China was ready to deal with the dominant West on more even and mutually rewarding terms. The path to modernization wasunparallelled and eventually unsurpassed on the global scale.

By the turn of the 21st century China was ticking each box of the indices of human progress in all domains. It delivered the feat of being #Global Economy, lapping on the heels of the USA superpower. The productive manufacturing prowess now surpassed the aggregated capacity of the next seven global industrial competitors. Its technological and scientific attainments now excel in patent registrations heralding a future of prolific economic dominance. National poverty has shifted from reduction to eradication. A new and bulging middle class has been unleashed as the driver and champion of global demand by a super-sized population.

There is feel good wealth factor being spread holistically to the global markets as shared value chains are erected across continents. Africa stands yet another economic beneficiary as a confident China opens its markets with zero tariffs.President Xi Jinping stands as the embodiment of a new beneficent benevolent China with his globalist outlook spelling share human progress. Rope the July 1921 founding of the Communist Party of China has turned out to be a seminal point of modern history a century later.
