Chimoio shrines will rejuvenate our spirit: Wigma4ED

By Margaret Kamba

As part of celebrations to mark this year's Heroes and Defence Forces Days, Women in Global Markets lead by their National Chairperson Cde Susan Machiri are journeying to Chimoio and Nyadzonia shrines.

The shrines housed in Mozambique, are where some of Zimbabwe's gallant sons and daughters who fought for the freedom of this motherland died when the Smith regime bombed the camps.

The journey to Mozambique comes short on the heels of the ZANU PF Women’s League first National Assembly for this year held under the theme "Breaking Barriers, Building Futures: Women’s Journey Towards Vision 2030" during which His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa called on the inclusion of all women realizing their invaluable contribution to modernizing, industrializing and building Zimbabwe.

In a note, Cde Mashiri said the group's journey to Mozambique will rejuvenate their spirits.

"While challenges persist, initiatives and opportunities are emerging to support women entrepreneurs and leaders. By celebrating our achievements and addressing the obstacles we face, we can create a more inclusive and equitable business landscape," Cde Mashiri said.

"We are on our way to Mozambique, where we are going to visit Chimoio and Nyadzonia shrines. This is where our Cdes were laid to rest during Chimoio and Nyadzonya massacre. We hope we come back rejuvenated as the brave men and women who fought to bring the freedom we enjoy today."
