In an effort to upgrade the status of the rural pupil to match their urban counterpart, Masvingo North Member of Parliament, Cde Brian Mudhumi donated laptops to Boroma Primary School.
The laptops are already in use by the different learners who take turns for their one hour lessons.
The learners have displayed an interest in learning the basics since the 700 pupil enrollment must take turn on the ten laptops.
The school Headmaster Cde Munindwa Mangena has also stopped at nothing to ensure that the pupils passing through these doors understand the importance of growing an orchard and doing fish farming.
The orchard not only has fruit trees such as mangoes, oranges, and guava but indigenous trees such as mutohwe, mukondachando, mutamba, and mushuku, amongst others.
The two and half meters deep fish pond already has fingerlings, and once harvested, it will supply the surrounding communities with relish.
" Apart from the donation of laptops, Honourable Brian Mudhumi is helping build the classroom block. Since this is a school in a resettlement area, the enrollment has grown from 120 pupils to 700, hence the need to expand. Our teachers' quarters must also be increased since the accommodation facilities were only meant for a few," he said.
"Honourable Mudhumi has demystified the norm by many Members of Parliament. He has shown development to our doorstep, and we will continue supporting his efforts to make this place a better place. We have seen that the ruling Party, ZANU PF is people centered, and that vision 2030 can be achieved easily."
Cde Joseph Zvokuziva also said, "We have seen that the ruling Party loves its people through the numerous projects we see occurring in our Ward. The MP has invested in a project to see the women dry (fushayi) their agricultural produce for sale. This way, they can make money and be empowered."
