His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa today laid the late National Hero Cde Luke Mushore whose Chimurenga name was Cde Dick Joboringo.
Cde Mushore died after a long illness at the age of 76.
Speaking at the National Shrine this Monday morning, the ZANU PF First Secretary, described the loss as a huge blow to the nation and Liberation War Fraternity.
The President expressed heart-felt condolences to the Mushore family and urged the youths to cherish Zimbabwe's independence and jealously guard it.
"As a dedicated and loyal cadre, the late Cde Mushore remained an active, loyal, reliable and steadfast member of our ruling revolutionary Party, ZANU PF," President Mnangagwa said.
"Let us, therefore, never forget that it is through the selfless and consistent sacrifices as well as dedication by the late Comrade Mushore, including many other departed and living cadres, that our beloved Motherland is an independent, sovereign and united country. In their honour, let us always advance our national interests and defend our national interests and defend our country from all enemies."
