The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Matabeleland South Hon. Albert Nguluvhe has commissioned Tshabili Clinic in Ward 1 under Beitbridge Rural District Council in a move aimed at providing access to affordable health care.

 The state-of-the-art healthcare facility that was financed by the combined support of Devolution Funds, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), CAMPFIRE revenues and the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) will significantly improve access to quality medical care for villagers in the area.

This achievement demonstrates the power of the devolution programme, introduced by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, which has unlocked resources for our local authorities to address pressing needs and deliver tangible results to the people.

In addition, this intervention comes at a very critical juncture. For too long, the people of Ward 1 faced a grim reality, the nearest health facilities Tshaswingo, Tshituripasi and Dite clinics are located 26km, 20km and 29 km respectively.

Speaking about the clinic, Cde Nguluvhe said, "Now no villager from this area will travel for more than 8km to access health services. Together with other local leaders, we are urging Government doctors to have outreach programmes to the 20 clinics under our RDC area at least once a week, to reduce challenges community members are encountering when travelling to the sole referral hospital in Beitbridge town. We will support the doctors with material resources for this outreach."
