Women in Masvingo North's Ward 4 Muchakata Bus stop area no longer have to walk over four kilometers to fetch water thanks to the solar powered borehole drilled by their Member of Parliament.
The women narrated sad stories about how their journeys downstream so they could have drinking water.
Like the women in the urban areas, they can now simply turn on the tap and the safe drinking water gushes out.
Cde Lynnet Mabehe said, "We would walk downhill to go and fetch water and we would spend a little of time doing so. With the coming of this borehole, the time spent on fetching water has reduced."
Cde Rosemary Makavire thanked Honourable Mudhumi saying, "We would get to the river streams and the cattle have already puddled the water we want to fetch. We drank dirty water with worms before but now because of this borehole we are no longer doing that. We can wash our church uniforms and they are extra clean. We no longer get sick from because we have clean water to drink. If ever we found anyone vandalizing this borehole, we would fight with them because it has made our lives easy."
