ZIMBABWEANS PAY THEIR LAST RESPECT TO BRIG GEN CHIGUDU

The extreme mid-morning temperatures of Harare could not deter a sizeable crowd that met the Covid-19 regulations from congregating at the National Shrine to pay their last respects to the late gallant son of the soil, Brigadier General, Ruphus Chigudu.   The situation was similar in Mbare where several residents lined up the road to Stoddard Hall.   Brigadier Chigudu passed on last Thursday and is survived   Several Zimbabweans who thronged the National Shrine carried with them posters that tell the Zimbabwean story of prosperity under the New Dispensation.   The biggest banner of the day was on the Pfumvudza programme through which Government is targeting to distribute farming inputs under the Presidential Input Support Scheme to 1.8 million households during the 2020/21 farming season. Several beneficiaries who registered under the programme have started receiving their inputs.   The banner on Pfumvudza loudly read, “Adopting the Pfumvudza concept on maize and tradition grains.” The mourners also spoke strongly against the stigmatization of Covid-19 patients saying, “Stop stigmatization of Covid-19 patients.” There was also a huge call against sanctions as the mourners said, “Sanctions: Hurting ordinary people the most,” “Sanctions Must Go Now,” and “Sanctions Violates Human Rights.”
