By Margaret Kamba

South African President, His Excellency, Cde Cyril Ramaphosa says Zimbabwe's focus on agriculture sector is superlative.

This he said after touring this year's Zimbabwe Agricultural Show in Harare this Friday.

The tour which was done in the company of his counterpart, His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa witnessed the Zimbabwe's dedication to improving the sector with a total of 6000 agricultural extension workers across the country.

President Mnangagwa has deliberately put measures in place to boost agricultural productivity such as the Presidential Input Scheme, the Presidential Goat Scheme, the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme, Pfumvudza/Intwasa programme and recently the Land Tenure programme.

"Firstly, I would like yo thank my elder brother for having invited me to come to this Agricultural Show. He has been inviting me for years and today, I can see why he has been inviting me," President Ramaphosa.

"What I have seen here is so impressive. Zimbabwe has been able to focus on agriculture in a superlative way. I leave Zimbabwe having learnt a great deal about agriculture. It is the type of learning we can copy in South Africa. I am truly honoured to have come here."

He commended the efforts to have 6 000 agricultural extension officers saying this move is a great boost to agriculture and its production.
